VERA SPRING

Vera Primavera lives and works in Mexico City. She is an architect by training, a self-taught painter and tattoo artist. Her artistic practice uses mural painting, where she questions the graphic representation of women in public spaces; tattooing as a performative act capable of hacking reality, exploring the empowerment of the body and the experiences of the being through the symbolic force of ritual; and painting on canvas as an intimate exploration of her daily life.

Since 2015 his work has been focused on large-format muralism, painting murals in multiple cities including: Lyon and Saint-Dié-des- Vosges in France; Chihuahua, CDMX and Monterrey in Mexico; Bogotá in Colombia; Quito, Ambato and Cuenca in Ecuador; Trier, Limbach-Oberfrohna and Mühldorf in Germany; Vienna in Austria; Esch-sur- Alzette in Luxembourg; New York and Harrisburg in the USA; Loures in Portugal and Helsingborg in Sweden.

Vera currently collaborates with the internet radio project Radio Nopal as part of the board of directors and as curator of the gallery space.
