SEMBLANCE:
Alexandra Castellanos is co-founder of the animation studio CASIOPEA, where she directs and animates various audiovisual projects. She is the author of short films such as POLIANGULAR and RESET. In 2020, she ventured into graphic narrative with the illustrated album book GIGANTE, winner of the “A la Orilla del viento” contest, published by the Fondo de Cultura Económica in 2021. She is interested in using hybrid languages to narrate with images through illustration, graphic narrative, video and animation.
AIMED AT: illustrators or designers who want to start animating.
GOALS :
- To facilitate basic animation techniques for beginner illustrators in animation.
- Rely on movement to contribute to the narrative of an illustrated image.
- Narrating through movement.
- Redefining dreams and desires to build a cyclical visual narrative in an illustration.
- Linking image creators with the moving image.
SESSIONS: 2 sessions, 4 hours per session
SESSION 1:
- Image narrative.
- Movement in still images, (loops)
- Writing and sketching illustrations based on dreams and meditations.
- Animation planning
- Illustration segmentation.
SESSION 2:
- Drawing in a few frames: Using timeline in Photoshop.
- movements in motiongraphics, use of basic movements in after effects.
- Render of the animated illustration.
MATERIALS:
** Basic knowledge of illustration and photoshop required.- Laptop with PHOTOSHOP AND AFTER EFFECTS, graphic tablet.
- A notebook and pencil/pen to write in.
