Cartoon Madness, Sixth Anniversary

Most people's lives are ruled by important dates throughout the year: vacations, end-of-year parties, and most importantly, birthdays. Although many people don't like celebrating their birthdays, and even though modern people say they don't care, the truth is that for better or worse, every time the date approaches, we start to think about what we did during the year and the conclusion is always: "Oh, how fast the year goes by :'v" However, being an independent cultural project based on cartoons, having survived a pandemic for 6 years, is a reason to celebrate; so here's a little context :O

Cartoon Madness was born from the hand of GAMA, as another exhibition in its calendar, but obviously we became a favorite of fans and artists, because there is nothing more fun in the world than remembering the endless hours in front of the TV. Little by little, our exhibitions began to touch on more specific topics, seeking to talk about topics with an underlying theme such as inequality, rejection of what is different or rebellion against a repressive State through innocent, cartoonish and funny pieces (greetings Bogotá 2021), not forgetting humor and satire in the process.
